The Lagan Valley Towpath is a favourite place to train for many
runners because of its proximity to Mary Peters' Track, upper Malone.
Cutting through the heart of Belfast from Laganside all the way
to Lisburn and beyond it offers long and short runs. It can be
be easily accessed from many different locations along the route.
The Towpath has some of the most breathtaking scenery you are likely
to see in Belfast and makes training that bit more pleasurable.
There are many places of interest especially for runners along
the banks of the Lagan. Belvoir Forest with its running trail and
Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park with its rolling meadows and gardens
are just two examples. Run the slide show and see for yourself.
